Hello, I'm Howard.
When the past still shapes how you feel about yourself and how safe relationships
feel.
You may appear capable and steady on the outside, yet carry a quieter sense of not
being enough.
Old family dynamics, unresolved grief, or experiences that were never
fully processed can continue to shape your confidence, your relationships, and the
way you relate to yourself.
Therapy offers a thoughtful, steady space to explore these patterns. Together, we
can begin to understand how the past is living in the present and create space for
something different.
The relationship between therapist and client is central to my work. I offer a warm,
safe, and non-judgmental space where we can think together about your
experience, at your pace. Meaningful change grows from feeling understood, not
analysed.
My App
I am a counsellor working with adults who struggle with self-esteem, grief, and the lasting impact of family experiences. You may appear capable and steady in your lives, yet privately carry self-doubt, unresolved loss, or relationship patterns that feel difficult to shift.
I am particularly interested in how early experiences and generational patterns shape the way we see ourselves and relate to others. Sometimes these patterns are subtle a quiet sense of not being enough, difficulty trusting, or feeling responsible for others. At other times, they are more visible in repeated relationship struggles or enduring grief.
The relationship we build in therapy is central to my work. I aim to offer a calm, warm and thoughtful space where you feel able to speak openly and at your own pace. I do not believe in quick fixes. Meaningful change tends to grow from awareness. Understanding how your past has shaped you and how it may still be influencing your present life.
I offer face to face counselling in Basildon, Essex, from The Old Rectory in Bowers Gifford, as well as online therapy across the UK.
