Self Esteem and how therapy can help.

Struggling with self-esteem can feel exhausting. You may hold yourself to high standards yet rarely feel good enough. You might compare yourself to others, replay conversations in your mind, or carry a persistent inner critic that is difficult to quiet.

Often, low self-esteem is not simply about confidence. It can be rooted in early relationships, family dynamics, loss, or experiences where you learned to doubt yourself. Over time, these patterns can shape how you see yourself and how safe relationships feel.

How Therapy Can Help.

In therapy, we begin by understanding how your sense of self developed. Together, we can explore where self-criticism began, how it may once have protected you, and how it may now be limiting you.

Rather than trying to “boost” confidence in a surface way, my approach focuses on building a more secure and compassionate relationship with yourself. As we work relationally, you may begin to notice changes not only in how you feel internally, but also in how you show up in your relationships.
